    UNC Wilmington to Increase Tuition for 2010-2011
    The University of North Carolina Wilmington announced that tuition will increase by $411.50 per undergraduate student and $412.60 per graduate student for the 2010-11 academic year. Increases are taking place across the UNC System after the N.C. General Assembly gave universities the option to raise tuition to address some of the budget cuts higher education is taking, once again, in this year’s state appropriations.

    Students from around the state and teachers from the North Carolina Association of Educators gathered at the Bell Tower on the NC State campus for the One Voice Rally for Public Education. In order to take a stand against major budget cuts affecting public universities in North Carolina, students are doing what they can to show the effect.
