Emperor Constantine the Great founded the capital and named it after himself. It was called Constantinople. At one point it became the wealthiest and largest city in Europe.

Belisarius Military Campaigns

Belisarius was a general who ended the uprising of the Nika Uprising. Justinian then killed thirty thousand people. Belisarius did not like this so he took down Justinian's forces. He finally took Jusinian down and everything was stable.

Hagia Sophia Completed

Hagia Sophia was made as one big dome with mini domes in it. It later collapsed. They then rebuilt it. It was bigger than the first with more detail. It was built with arches, domes, and columns.

Nika Revolt

The Nika Revolt started at the chariot races. People were everywhere chanting mean things at Justinian due to the politicial issues in the city. It got to a point that half the city was either burned down or destroyed. Thousands of people died. They were going to throw Justinian out of his place but decided he should stay because he is one of them unlike the other man. He then rebuilt the damaged city.

Islamic military campaigns

Byzantine was the only place powering near the Islams. They wanted to take Byzantine down. They didn't want someone to be more powerful than them. They created many campaigns to help take Byzantine down. So more and more people came to help which expanded their land greatly.

Great Schism

The Great Schism was cause when the East and West divided because of Christianity. The Easterns were Orthodox and the Westerns were Roman Catholic. It was easier this way, they spoke different languages, and have different options.

Help in Middle East

Alexios was planning on taking down the Eastern Empire. To do that he needed more soldiers to help him fight. He asked Pope Urban II to help him form a military. Urban gladly helped.

Fourth Crusade

The Fourth Crusade was known as the last attack in the Great Schism. The Fourth Crusade was caused by the crusaders not getting their payment and Alexios Angelos was murdered. Therefore, the cruisers were mad and planned to attack Constantinople. They attacked and won over the city and some other parts of Byzantine.

Fall of Constantinople

The Ottomans attacked Constantinople. They surrounded the city which lead to 7 weeks of fighting. The Ottomans succeed their attack. They took over Constantinople. Many people from Italy then migrated there.

Conquests of Bulgaria

Basil defeated Bulgaria when they tried to attack. It was their first win. Basil and his military proceeded to attack Bulgaria. They took their capital. His military got so strong he was able to take back the land that was taken from him.
