    Nika Revolt
    A riot broke out over the restrictions set by John of Cappadocia. The ringleaders were to be executed, but they escaped. Supporters were going to ask the emperor to be lenient with these men at the next race. At the race they started chanting "Nika!" at Justinian. The place went violent. The rioters released prisoners from jail and set that building on fire. Lot's of the city was on fire, including the Hagia Sophia.

    He stopped the Nika uprising in Constantinople. He then went to Persia in 533 CE. He eventually defeated them. Then he was sent to Italy and won again. Several times. He then took Sicily in 535. And then Naples and Rome the following year. And last he took Ravenna in 539 (540 depending on the source).
