  • Month 1

    Month 1
    In the first month after conception,the baby will a heart and blood vessels, and the baby will start to develop the structures that will eventually become the arms and legs. Also, lungs are starting to form. Birth Defect- at 3-4 weeks Encephalocele can occur.
  • Month 2

    Month 2
    The baby has now been developing for 2 months and about half an inch big. The eyelids and ears are starting to form. Also, things like the arms and legs are more distinct.
  • Month 3

    Month 3
    During the third month, the baby measures about 2 inches and starts to make its own movements. The gender of the baby will become clearer and also the baby's heartbeat can be heard. Birth Defect- PKU can develop within the first 3 months of pregnancy.
  • Month 4

    Month 4
    In the fourth month, the baby will measure around four and a half inches and weigh about 3.5 ounces. Now the baby will be able blink and its heart and blood vessels are fully forms. The baby also has developed fingerprints

    It is now month 5 and the baby weighs around 10 ounces and is only 6 inches long.The baby will start to yawn, stretch, and suck its thumb. The baby will also start to move more.

    During the 6th month of pregnancy the baby will weigh around 1 and half pounds. The baby can hear and responds to sounds. The inner ear is now fully developed
  • Month 7

    Month 7
    In the seventh month, the baby weighs around 2 and a half pounds, and moves a lot in this stage. The baby now has a good chance of surviving premature delivery from this point on.
  • Month 8

    Month 8
    During the eighth month, The baby weighs around 4 pounds and is putting on more and more weight. The baby has fewer wrinkles because fat is starting to form under the skin.
  • Month 9 and birth

    Month 9 and birth
    During the ninth and final month of pregnancy the baby will weigh around 6 pounds and be around 18.5 inches long. The baby's brain and lungs have been rapidly developing. The baby is positioned head down in preparation for birth.
