    Nat turners rebellion was about when a slave brought a rebellion over the slave states and killed over 50 people the effect of the happening was that all involved were killed and it spread fear throughout the slave states.

    This popular sovereignty act was to split kansas and nebraska into a free or slave state though popular sovereignty. This made the south very happy but kansas became a fight over slavery.

    Dred scott was a slave who sued for freedom because he was taken to places that slaves were illegal in and so he claimed he was a free man. this eventually came to the supreme court they ruled that slaves were not citizens. Slaves were also ruled property which was protected by the fifth amendment so congress could not ban slavery anywhere.

    John brown wanted to arm slaves so he went to a federal arsenal to start a slave rebellion but slaves were scared of even more harsh treatment coming to them. he was tried for treason, was found guilty and hung.
