  • Turtle Bayou Resolutions

    Turtle Bayou Resolutions
    Settlers didn't like fleeing from North Anahuac to Turtle Bayou. After Texas Rebels heard the victory of the Federalist Army led by Santa Anna, they solved the problems of Turtle Bayou. The army explained that opposing federalist and people that wanted the constitution back attacked them. The resolutions urged people to support Santa Anna. The federalist general was then left without punishing the settlers.
  • Battle of Velasco

    Battle of Velasco
    First bloody battle between Texas and Mexico. Henry Smith was in charge of Texas using a cannon against Mexican forces. There were about the same amount of soldiers and Texans fighting. Eventually, Mexico surrendered with barely anybody killed. They were allowed to aboard on his ship and leave. When returning to Anahuac, setters found that prisoners got out and colonial Bradburn had been removed from command.

    The convention was held for solving resolutions after the disturbances of the battle. Fifty-five delegates were there including SFA. They were requesting to solve tariff exemption, immigration from US, and donation of land. They made a plan to organize the militia, safeties, and quick emergencies. The large Tejano settlement never showed up. They then made a decision to separate Coahuila. SFA thought that Santa Anna had not yet taken over national gov. from pres. Bustamante.

    This convention was when Santa Anna took control. This convention had Sam Houston as one of the delegates. The convention presided over to Indian defense, judicial reform, and
    improvement in mail service, tariff exemption, and passed
    resolutions prohibiting African slaves into Texas. They also wanted to split Coahuila and Texas. They then made a draft of the constitution, and SFA went to go present it to the government.
  • SFA Goes to Mexico City

    SFA Goes to Mexico City
    SFA was delivering the petitions to Mexico City for approval. He was going to persuade the government to repeal the law of 1830. SFA was arrested for suspicion of of trying to incite insurrection in Texas, and taken back to Mexico City. No charges were made, but stayed in Mexico City as prisoner until 1834.
