    The constitution was made to get freedom and independence from Spain. The major differences from the US constitution were that catholicism was made official religion of Mexico. It was patterned to resemble the US Constitution.

    The Guerrero Decree was when the president, Vicente Ramon Guerrero, created the Law of April 6, 1830. The law basically banned slavery and U. S. immigrants into Texas.

    Col. Juan Davis Bradburn was ordered to prevent entrance of immigrants to the Us. This was according to the new law passed April 6, 1830.

    In June 1832, a group of Anglo-American settlers staged a rebellion against Mexican rule in the town of Anahuac. He was appointed to make the town to collect tariffs and duties, stop smuggling, and bring unruly Texans under Mexican law.
  • Battle of Velasco

    Battle of Velasco
    This battle was the first case of bloodshed between US and Mexico. Settlers fought Mexican forces to prevent a passage of the boat carrying the cannon Texans tried to retrieve. The Mexicans surrendered and gave US the win at the Battle of Velasco.

    It adopted of resolutions requesting the extension of tariff exemptions, modification of the Law of April 6, 1830, to permit more general immigration from the United States, donation of government lands for the maintenance of primary schools.Resolutions were never presented to the Mexican Government.

    Held to repeal of the anti‐immigration section of the Law of April 6, 1830, asked for more adequate Indian defense, judicial reform, and
    improvement in mail service, sought tariff exemption, and passed
    resolutions prohibiting African slave traffic into Texas.

    SFA goes to Mexico
    Austin was elected to deliver petitions to Mexico city for the argument of approval. He persuaded Mexican government to repeal Law of April 6, 1830, and promise important reforms in Texas local government. He was arrested on his journey back to Texas under suspicion of trying to incite insurrection in Texas.

    The Consultation was a debate between two factions the wanted to continue diplomatic relations with Mexico. It was led by SFA and immeadiately wantde independednce. The main issuses were the purpose of war, the power/dstructure of government, and virtues of differennt leaders.
