Causes of WWII

  • Treaty of Versailles

    Germany and the Allied powers signed the Treaty ending the war. United States didn't sign the Treaty.
  • Rise of Hitler and the Nazi Party

    People voting Adolf Hitler to be their leader, and keep them safe and bring them out of depression.
  • Rise of the Italian fascism

    Ben Mussolini came to power in 1922 and helped found the political ideology of fascism. He sided with the axis powers in 1940.
  • Great Depression

    People were buying things on credit when they really didn't have any money and eventually the stock market crashed.
  • Japanese Expansionism

    invasion of Manchuria and continued in 1937 with a brutal attack on China. On September 27, 1940, Japan signed the Tripartite Pact with Germany and Italy, thus entering the military alliance known as the "Axis." Seeking to curb Japanese aggression and force a withdrawal of Japanese forces from Manchuria and China, the United States imposed economic sanctions on Japan.
