The begining
The electronic television was successfully displayed for the first time on Sept. 7, 1927 in San Francisco. This predecessor of the modern television was invented by Philo Taylor Farnsworth, a 21-year-old Utah native. -
The first show
The Queen's Messenger, a one-act play broadcast on September 11, 1928, was the world's first live drama on television. Radio giant RCA began daily experimental television broadcasts in New York City in March 1929 over station W2XBS, the predecessor of current television station WNBC. -
Color Tv
It is an improvement on the earliest television technology, monochrome or black and white television, in which the image is displayed in shades of grey (greyscale). Television broadcasting stations and networks in most parts of the world upgraded from black and white to color transmission in the 1960s and 1970s. NBC inaugurated Colorcasting on November 22, 1953 with "The Colgate Comedy Hour" and shortly thereafter on January 1, 1954 with "The Tournament of Roses Parade," and was continually adding new color shows to their schedule through the 1950's and 60's.
