This was when the first US death in the Vietnam War was reported. This event was seen as the beginning of the war for many Americans. The soldier who lost his life was James T. Davis from Tennessee. -
Tet Offensive
On the Tet holiday in Vietnam, a ceasefire was suppose to be in place between the US and Vietnamese forces. However, the Vietcong initiated a series of attacks on the US troops. The Vietcong was surprised when we were still prepared and ultimately this ended up being a catastrophe for the Vietcong. -
