    This is important because he would try to cleanse the court and did so by punishing the scholar gentry class when they got out of line.

    Zheng He expeditions from China to Southeast Asia, India, and east Africa

    This is important because it showed China’s powerful presence to these places

    Francis Xavier makes mass converts in India

    This is important because the converts would add to India’s diversity.
  • 1580

    Jesuits arrive in China

    This is important because the Jesuits would make significant ground in converting the Chinese until, after a long time the emperor discouraged Christianity as he found it was discouraging Chinese tradition.
  • Hideyoshi unifies Japan

    This is important because before Japan was a feudal society, but now it had came under one leader
  • Christianity banned in Japan

    This is important because this was what started Japan shutting down and isolating itself
  • Japan moves into self-imposed isolation

    This is important because it means that new ideas would not get into Japan, they therefore will develop independently.
  • Dutch capture Malacca from Portuguese; Dutch confined to Deshima Island off Nagasaki

    1) This is important because it shows that the Dutch were starting to replace the Portuguese.
    2) This is Important because it highlights the Japanese isolationist policies.

    This is important because the Qing dynasty was the last dynasty before the Republic of China took over.
