  • Battle of Ticonderoga

    Battle between the French and British during the French-Indian War. British won.

  • Sugar Act

    Act that placed taxes on sugar and molasses

  • Currency Act

    Act that regulated paper money that was issued by the American Colonies.

  • Quartering Act

    Act that required the colonists to house British soldiers.

  • Stamp Act

    First Direct tax on the colonists.

  • Townsend Acts

    Imposed taxes on glass, lead, paint, paper, and tea

  • Boston Massacre

  • Tea Act

    British law that gave the East India company special concessions in the colonial tea business

  • Boston Tea Party

    In response to the Tea Act, members of the Sons of Liberty dumped 18,000 pounds of tea in the Boston Harbor

  • Intolerable Acts

    A series of laws that tightened control over the colonies

  • First Continental Congress Meets

    Meeting where John Adams, Sam Adams, and George Washington created a declaration of colonial rights.

  • 2nd Continental Congress

    Delagates meet for the second time. George Washington was elected commander of the continental army.

  • Lexington and Concord

    First battles of the Revolution. Americans won Concord and the British won Lexington.
