Not surprisingly, Darwin's academic life was spectacular, and he caught the attention of his teachers. John Stevens Henslow (1796 - 1861) was the Professor who recommended him for this voyage, hoping that his smart, promising pupil could explore the world and advance with his studies, which Darwin indeed did. This voyage was the heart of his fantastic theory created a few years later.

On November 24, 1859, Darwin finally published his book called "On the origin of species". After the voyage, he spent more than twenty years working on his discoveries, cataloging species, and creating his theory. Sadly, eight of these years were spent on battling an illness and a few others fighting against his morals once his work did not agree with almost anything learned in church, and the conflict between the two would be inevitable. His book was a presentation of his theory to the world.
