    Archaeologists found writing on the backs of turtle shells and dated it back to this time period. The Shang dynasty was thought and still thought to be the people who wrote on the turtle shells.

    The Warring State period began at the down fall of the Chou dynasty. The downfall was caused by invaders from the northern frontier. Also the feudal lords began to fight among themselves which aided in the fall of this dynasty and the beginning of the warring states.

    The Silk Roads were developed to help with trade between China and European countries. The major product that was moved on the Silk Road was silk. So that is why they named it the Silk Road.

    The Great Wall of China was built by Ch'in. The wall was built to help protect against attacks from the north. Although it was a great accomplishment many did not like it because Ch'in forced peasants to work on the wall, and a large number of them died in the process.
