    Linda Brown and her sister had to walk a dangerously far distance to school every day when there was a closer school near them but it was only for white children so they could not attend. They decided to appeal their case to the court In 1954 the Supreme Court ruled that racial segregation in schools for children was unconstitutional.

    Rosa Parks Bus Boycott
    Rosa Parks, who was not only a seamstress but the secretary to the president of NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People). On December 1, 1955 she was arrested for refusing to give up her seat on a bus which sparked a 381 Montgomery bus boycott.
