    It took place in Topeka, Kansas. The Plessy v. Ferguson case allowed separate but equal facilities. The Topeka kansas school board denied access to Olivier Brown to go the all white public school there. It resulted in the Supreme Court outlawing segregation in schools.

    Murder of Emmett Till
    Emmett Till was murdered in Money, Mississippi. Emmett was visiting a relative in Mississippi. In a shop he sweet talked to a white woman. Later that night two men broke came to Emmett's house and took him. He was later found dead in a river.

    It took place Montgomery, Alabama. Rosa parks got on a bus after a day of working. She sat in a "colored" seat. The driver told her to move for a white man. She denied, and they arrested her. They also fined her 10 dollars.

    Lt. Col. Lemuel Penn was killed by Klansmen while driving in Colbert, Georgia. Lemuel was returning to town when a station wagon pulled up next to his car and fired two shots. Lemuel died instantly. The federal government sent dozens of investigators to help with the case. It was found that klansmen killed Lemuel.

    He was an attorney for the NAACP before becoming a Supreme Court Justice. I think this was a monumental event, because I think it shows segregation is coming to an end.

    King was at Memphis, Tennessee to support sanitation worker's strike. There he gave a speech. The next day he was on his balcony where a sniper's bullet hit his neck. He died shortly after. His death. His death really shocked all of America because he was a leader to all, and represented civil rights.
