    On this day, the Supreme Court had decided that separating black people from whites in schools would be unconstitutional. This overturned the Plessy v. Ferguson case which allowed segregation.

    In 1955 john Sammons Bell started a campaign to replace the confederate battle flag with the red and white bars of Georgia's state flag. It showed the confederate flag to show thier stance for legal segregation.

    The Sibley Commission was formed after Brown v. Board of education. The General Assembly didn't want to comply with state law so The governor, Vandiver, created the Sibley Commission so that he wouldn't make the unpopular decision. The Sibley Commission found that the majority of people would rather shut down schools then make them integrate.
