    Homer Plessy was a 30 year old man who was more white than black, but was considered black. He sat in a car for the "whites" and was put in jail.
  • Brown vs. Board of Education

    It segregated colored kids to attend the white public schools. A little girl who lived across the street from a white scchool went to court because she had to travel 30 miles to the colored school.
  • Little Rock Nine & Central High School

    little rock high9 black students wanted to attend a white school. The governor called the National Guard which then the President called the federal troops and it allowed them to go to school with whites.
  • Murder of Emmett Till

    Emmett Till was staying the day at his uncle's house whenever 2 white men abducted him at gunpoint. The men claimed he had whistled at a white girl at the grocery store. His body was found 3 days later brually beaen and shot in the head.

    Malcolm X was similar to MLK in the sense of fighting for civil rights. He was shot to death by a group of Nation of Islam members while givinng a speech in NYC.
