Lincoln's best opponent was William H. Seward of New York.
Lincoln won even though none of the souther states voted for him. He got 180 votes out of 303 people. The reason Lincoln was voted was becuase the north was more populated. -
Texas secedes From Union
Was the 7th state to join the confederatsy.
The votes were 166 to 8 so Texas was now the confederatsy.
Houston did not want to secede so he was later kick from office.
Texas had slaves and did not want to give them up. -
Houston kicked from office
Houston did not think that the south was better than the north and did not want to seced. Houston refused to take the oath aillegents to the confederatys. He was replaced by edward clark. -
Battle at Fort Sumter
The fort is located off the coast of alabama.
The commander of the fort was Robert anderson.
The confederat demaned that all union troops were removed from the south wich lead to this battle.
The south won. this is effectiv becuase the south was in the laed and this is the first and starting of the civle war! -

The battle was located in Texas.The confedurets won and took back galveston. This important becuse they got more supplise to go to war with. -

The union won and the confeduretsy lost. an estimate of 23000 union solders died. An estimate of 28000 confedat soilders died.

There was 135 captured and 28 killed men from the union.
The confedurets didnt lose a single man.
The battle was located at the border of Texas and Lousanai.
This battle was important becuse Texas had to be creative and later after the civle war got weathy. -
Red River Campaign
The battle lasted till the May 22 1864. The Red River Campaign happed in wester luosiana. The confedurets lost and the union won. the Red River Campaign was a Federal attempt to capture Shreveport Louisiana. -
End of Civil War
620,000 Union and Confederate died at the end of the civile war! General Edmund Kirby Smith, commander of Confederate forces was the general who singed the surrender terms. The war lasted from 1861-1865. -
Battle of Palmito Ranch
This battle was won by the confedurats. This was the last major clash of arms in the Civil War. There were 118 Union casualties and no confederate deaths. the battle was located in south texas.this was effitive becuse the confeduret won and still had hope. -
Juneteenth
Not Avery many slaves knew they were free until June 19, 1865. This date freed every slave in America.this was only the beginning of the long and struggling times for the black people because no they were experenceing rasisam. More than 100 years later people are still fighting for there civil rights. -
Reconstruction Ends
This is about blacks getting rights like getting the right to vote and no rasisam. A lot of republicans believed that the south should deal with their own problems. The nation was about to give up on civil rights for the black people. After the blacks got the right to vote secrecy societys were made to make the whites be more domain ate than the blacks.
