    Abraham Lincoln was elected for president on Feb 06,1860. Stephen A. Douglas was Lincoln's aponent and lost the run for president. Lincoln's election helped the Union towards victory in the cival war. Lincoln was shot and killed just a few weeks after the war ended.

    Texas seceding from the Union effected the cival war because Texas makes up a lot of the population and adding thousands of troops to the confederacy gives them a better chance of victory. Texas is a major export of cotten and has mutiple sea ports on the golf of Mexico

    The reason Sam Houston was kiked out of office is because he did not want to join the confederats to fight the union. Houston left the office because he didnot belive in the cival war.Houston was also frustrated because Texas was just annexed with the United States and now they are on bad terms.

    Fort Sumter is located in Charlston, South Carolina. This was the start of the cival war that also led to several states leaving the U.S. and joining the Confiderate States of America.

    The battle took place in the Galveston bay. The Union tryed to blockade the harbor so no ships or boats could come or go. The Confiderate shpis managed to break the blockade and the Union fell back.

    The battle of Gettysburg took place in Pennsylvania. The battle as known as the turning point of the war. Before this battle the Confiderats had won the majority of the battles but from now on the Union pulls ahed.

    The battle of Sabine pass took place on the sabine river located in between Texas and Louisiana. The Union had come up the Sabine river with three ships and started to fire apon the confiderates. The Confiderate's fell back from the fort they had been holding. The Confiderates had won with no deaths and the Union had over 300 deaths

    The Red river campaign ended on may 22, 1864. This was made up of several battles along the Red river and coast of Louisiana. The confiderates lost two of there most important comanders but still managed to win the battle. The Confiderates had also lost many more troops than they could afford.

    The battle was a Confederate victory. Some troops were taken prisioners but there were very few deaths. This battle led to the removal of the Union blockade. Many troops fled across the border to mexico for the deration of the battle.

    Juneteenth is the oldest selebration of the end of slavery in the United States. The slaves in the United States are no more. The news got to Galveston, TX on June 19, 1865. The law was weak because there were very few Union troops to enforce the law.

    On Jan 10, 1876 the reconstruction of buildings, citys, and government is finaly compleet. The North is finally regaining the South's trust. The South was full of people who still believed in slavery and comited crimes in rebillion to the north.
