This was around 3 months before the south actually seceded from the United states of america. They became the Confederate states of america.Now it is a sure yes that there will be a war. Before they left there was still a chance of the country working things out. Now after there is not. -

This consists of the civil war battles and all other major aspects of the civil war. -
Fort Sumter
It was an on going process.The fight didnt just bstart as soon as they got there. Then the fighting went on for 36 hours of constant bombardment.They did it because they wouldnt get out of the fort, they thought it was their fort. -
POOF! 4 more states
Right after the war started 4 more states join the confederates and leave the U.S. This is bad because the CSA has 4 more states that can fight against the U.S. -
Lincoln takes action
Lincoln knows that it is time to take action and fight back.On January 27, President Lincoln issued a war order authorizing the Union to launch a unified aggressive action against the Confederacy. But the leading general did not do what he said. -
Fort Pulaski
General Quincy A. Gillmore Beat up and took the fort in two days. -
Pope's Campaign
This was a seris of battels that took place in the months of july and august. Robert E. Lee (leading confederate general) Fought in many battles then went up to virgina and beat the unions general. Historian John J. Hennessy wrote that "Lee may have fought cleverer battles, but this was his greatest campaign" So this is important because this is when the confederates were winning and winning alot. -
Harper's Ferry
In this event the Union general fought against Robert E. Lee. This was the first time that robert has been beaten. Also after fighting Lee the union general didnt make it to harpers ferry fast enough.Thats why this is important, because the union lost alot of supplies. The confederats took over harpers feery and the supplies before they got to it. -
Emancipation Proclamation
Lincoln made it so if the slaves got to the north they are free. At this time congress was making its way to abolition. Then there was a act made that stated if a man represented the Confederacy and they had slave then the slaves were free. Then on January 1 1863 Lincoln passed the Emancipation Proclamation and made all slaves free. This made a big change in the war because now the south was angry for the goverment just letting their "proptery" go. Also now the south didnt have any workers.
