  • Missouri compose

    Missouri Compromise- kept the balance of pro and anti-slavery states by allowing Maine as a free state, Missouri was able to become a pro-slavery state. This created tension between the north and south because the north did not like that congress could said aid in the expansion of slavery. This becomes an argument of power
  • Compromise of 1850

    a law was passed to dealt the issue of slavery. California request permission to become a free state. This potentially upset the balance between the free and slave states in the U.S. Senate.
  • Fugitive Slave Law

    was a law that was passed that allowed of the capture and runaway slaves in the united states. The laws was about the return of escaped slaves to their owners if not you are punished.
  • Kansas-Nebraska Act

    was an act passed by the U.S congress. It allowed people in the territories of Kansas and Nebraska to decide for themselves whether or not to allow slavery within them. The act served to repeal.
  • Dred Scott Supreme Court decision

    was a case that a slave in a free state was granted his freedom and that the slaves could never be a citizen of the united states and that all the territories west of Missouri were free
  • Raid on Harper’s Ferry

    a staunch abolitionist, and a group of his followers went off Harpers Ferry. Brown and his men captured prominent citizens. hopes that the local slave population would join the raid
  • Election of 1860

    Lincoln defeated the democrats. It split between the northern and Southern this was particularly over slavery. Seven southern states which was lead by south Carolina they seceded.
  • Abraham Lincoln

    was the president of the united stares in 1861 and he issued the Emancipation Proclamation that declared forever free those slaves within the Confederacy in 1863.
  • Battle of Antietam

    it was a battle between Generals Robert E. Lee and George McClellan fought on northern soil. It takes place at a creek in Sharpsburg, Maryland. McClellan failed his numerical superiority to crush Lee’s army.
  • Emancipation Proclamation

    Tells about how Lincoln would free the slaves who help him fight in the war. That of you stranded with him after the war you would be free. He felt like slavery was not bad.
  • Battle of Gettysburg

    it was the largest battle it involved around 85,000 men in unions army and maybe around 75,000 confederacy’s army. There was a big amount of people lose in the battle.
