  • When Coke began

    Coca-Cola began in 1886 when Dr. John S. Pemberton created a soft drink that could be sold at soda fountains. He created a flavored syrup and mixed it with carbonated water at the neighborhood pharmacy. The people who sampled the liquid, claimed it was excellent.
  • Gallons of Syrup

    Under Candler's leadership, sales rose from 9,000 gallons of syrup in 1890 to 370,877 gallons in 1900.
  • Bottling System

    Three businessmen in Tennessee, secured exclusive rights to bottle and sell Coca-Cola. The three of them purchased the bottling rights from Asa Candler for $1. Benjamin Thomas, Joseph Whitehead, and John Lupton developed the Coca-Cola worldwide bottling system.

    In 1941, America entered WW2 and thousands of solders were sent oversea. President Robert W. Woodruff stated that any American in uniform would get a coke for 5 cents regardless of the cost of the production.
