The Yalta Conference
The Yalta Conference took place February 4, 1945- February 4, 1945. It was a Conference about who (as in Frace, US, USSR, and Great Britain) who will have what part of Germany. USSR got the half of Germany with the capital Berlin. US, France, and Great Britain would share the other half 3 way. USSR als promised that US, France, and Great Britain can have democract elections but USSR lied. -
A-bomb tested
The atomic bomb was tested in Alamogordo, New Mexico and it was called the Manhattan Project. It was a top secret project to test the power of the A-bomb. -
Atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki
On August 6, 1945- August 8, 1945 Hiroshima and Nagasaki got attacked by the US by the atomic bomb. Within a mile of where the bomb was dropped everything was gone but far from that one mile no buildings were completely destroyed but got hit badly. Over thousands of people were hurt or killed. But two weeks after people started to get cancer because of that bomb's radiation. That is what finally got Japan to surrender in WW2 -
Winston's "Iron Curtain" speech
Winston's "Iron Curtain" speech took place in the US on March 5, 1946. 6 month after WW2 President Truman invited Winston to the USA to give a speech. But the main highlight was the "iron Curtain". He stated that because USSR Europe is being split between communism and everyone else. Which the line "Iron Curtain" hints. -
