    It is a statement that Truman used to convince Congress to send 400 million dollars to aid Turkey and Greece so that Communism didn't spread.

    Marshall Plan
    The Marshall Plan was made so the United States could provide help to all European countries that truly needed it. It was thought of by Secretary of State George Marshall and was signed by Truman in April 1948. It helped to bring hope back to European nations.

    Berlin Airlift

    After the Russians blocked all highways and rail routes into Western Berlin so no food or fuel could get into the city. So American and British officials started to fly food and supplies into West Berlin. It lasted 327 days, they had 277,000 flights, and more than 2.3 million tons of supplies were dropped in West Berlin.

    NATO stands for North Alantic Treaty Organiztion and it is in between Denmark, Great Britain, Italy, The Netherlands, Portugal, Belgium, France, Iceland, Luxembourg, Norway, Canada, and The United States. They pledged military alliance together and had a 500,000 troops with thousands of planes, tanks, and other equipment.
  • Warsaw Pact

    Warsaw Pact
    A mutual defense organization that helped the Soviet Union to increase it's military. It was in between the Soviet Union, Albaina, Romania, Hungary, Czechoslovakia, Poland, East Germany, and Bulgaria.
