    The Truman Doctrine was created to stop Soviet Imperialism during the cold war. Harry S. Truman had created it when he said you would contain soviet threats to Greece and Turkey. The Truman Doctrine was a start to the containment policy. The Doctrine also led to the start of the Cold War.
  • The Marshall Plan

    The Marshall Plan
    The Marshall plan was a plan to aid Western Europe. The United States ended up giving them $13 billion to help aid them economically. The money help them rebuild Western Europe after the World War. The Marshall Plan helped European economies grow. It also helped to prevent the spread of communism and helped lead to the European segregation.

    The Korean War was fought between North and South Korea. The United States aided the South. China and the Soviet Union aided the North. The South was democratic and the North was communists. The Korean War relates to the Cold War because they were both trying to get rid of communism.

    The Warsaw Pact was a treaty that was signed by Soviet Union, Albania, Poland, Romania, Hungary, East Germany, Czechoslovakia, and Bulgaria. The Warsaw Pact stated that the members would go to aid any of the other member countries if attacked by any other country. The creation of the Warsaw Pact relates to the Cold War because it was a treaty that was going on during the Cold War.

    The Communists in Berlin built a wall that divided Germany into East and West. The main purpose of the wall going up was to keep the western "fascists" out of Eastern Germany. Throughout the Cold War, the wall stood as one of the most powerful symbols.

    The Cuban Missile Crisis was a political and military stand off over the instalation of nuclear missiles aimed towards Cuba. President John Kennedy had gone on T.V to talk about the Crisis. He explained his decision to start a naval blockade. He also explained that the U.S was ready to use their miliatary force. The Cuban Missile Crisis is related to the Cold War because the Missile Crisis was a victory for the U.S during the Cold War.

    The Six Day War was fought between Isreal, Egypt, Jordan, and Syria. Israel believed that soon the three other countires would have a big attack on Isreal. Isreal did not wait to get attacked. Isreal launched a succsessful military campaign.

    The Space Race was a competition between the two Cold War Rivals, the Soviet Union and the United States. It was basically an arms race. The Soviet Union launched the first satelite into outer space, so the the United States sent the very first man to the moon.
