    Chinese Communist Revolution
    The Chinese Communist Revolution was when the Chinese nationalist government fell to communism. The two sides did team up to fight against Japan in WWII, while still fighting occasional with each other. The nationalist side was supported by the U.S. economically and by airlifts, while the Communist side was supported by Soviet Union economically. By 1949 the communist side won, due the nationalist having lack of troops and supplies, which led to a communist Chinese government.

    The Korean War was fought between the South, who had support from the U.S. and the North, who had support from China.     The Vietnam War was between South Vietnam, supported by the U.S., Philippines, and other anti-communist allies and the Vietcong supported by North Vietnam. At first the war was a Cold War-era proxy war for the U.S. to stop communist from spreading, but due to communist spreading throughout South Vietnam, the U.S. started sending military advisors in 1950, then troops in 1961 and 1962.

    In 1968 North Vietnam used the Tet Offensive, which would be a turning point in the Vietnam War, and would pressure the U.S. to withdraw from the war. Despite both parties signing the Paris Peace Accord, in January 1973, the fighting continued, which would change North-South relations. The Warsaw Pact was mostly in response to NATO, and the Warsaw Pact was mainly targeted to keep military control. The Warsaw Pact was taken down on February 25, 1991, due to the revolution in Romania and East Germany leaving the Warsaw pact.

    The Six-Day War, also known as the June War, 1967 Arab–Israeli War, or Third Arab–Israeli War, fought between Israel, the neighboring states of Egypt, Jordan, and Syria. In the period leading up to June 1967 tensions became dangerously heightened, in result of Egypt mobilizing along Israeli border in the Sinai Peninsula. On June 11th, a ceasefire was signed, but Arab had higher casualties then Israel.

    Even though the Soviet Union beat us to having the first satellite and the first men go to space, but we were able to beat the Soviets by getting the first man, Neil Armstrong to the moon on July 20, 1969, with the space mission Apollo 11. This was one instant of the space race or Cold War, which was mostly a one up game or a arms race.

    The Olympic rivalry 1972 basketball game toke place at Rudi-Sedlmayer Halle in Munich, Germany, and was between different countries including the Soviet Union, USA, Cuba, and others, from August 27th to September 9th. By the end of the tournament the Soviets got the gold medal, the U.S. got silver, and the Cubans got bronze.
