This was bad for the US becasue Castro was highly communist which is exactly what the US was trying to stop the spread of. This would create Future conflict between the US and Cuba.

This Proved as a turning ppoint in the space race. With the Americans landing the first man on the moon it proved that the US had technolegy far superior to rival nations. Having a man Literally step out onto the moon proved that the Americans were risky and couragous.
