    The United States and the Soviet Union were at the moment going head to head with competition. Nuclear weapons started to become a thing in the 1940s. They were always threatening each other out of terror to try and show who is stronger. This was the militaristic action in the cold war.

    Since the two most powerful countries were the United States and the Soviet Union, they both had different ways of running things. The soviet Union were communists, they basically ran everything and told everyone what to do and how to do things. The United states were against this kind of way of doing things. The united states were capitalists they made things fair and made things work out with everyone. They both argued with each other what was better and more efficient.This was the red scarce.

    Economy was handled differently just like everything else between the communists and capitalists. For the communists the government makes all the economic decisions and owns most of the property. On the other hand capitalists have private producers and consumers that make all the economic decisions by themselves. All the offers were based off of the quality of the products and to agree on the best price.

    As communism spread it found it's way in to china. Communism demanded the practice of Buddhism would come to a halt, and any other Chinese beliefs there was. With this way of living, the agriculture of china was boosted by building factories and dams.

    Korea was split in to two parts from WWll, north and south Korea. North Korea was communist ally with the Soviet Union, and south Korea was non communist along with the United States. Both leaders of north and south Korea wanted to be the leader of the whole country. Militarism action took place and caused both sides to have conflict between each other.

    Everything between the US and the Soviet Union was about competition. Two main things that were being put up for a race was who had the best technology and more knowledge in science. Two main examples was the space race and the arms race. The space race involved who was able to make spaceflight capable first and most efficient. And the arms race was about the increase of the quantity and quality on the instruments used for military power.

    Sports were a big deal in the cold war. Competing with sports was an alternate choice from war. Competing head to head in sports basically promoted social, political, and economic development. Winning in a sport basically showed how much power, capability and how dedicated they are. If anything could help define what the cold war consisted of (sports competition) would be a great example.
