Francisco Pizarro lead 170 soldiers into South America and conquered the Incas. -

first colony in North America, but was abandoned a year after it was settled. -
Spanish Armada
King Phillip assembled a fleet of 130 ships known as the Spanish Armada to defeat Queen Elizabeth. King Phillip wanted to restore the Catholic faith in England. The England and Spanish ships off the coast of France and the English defeated the Armada because they had smaller and faster ships. -

Henry Hudson
Henry hudson by the date of 1610 sailed four voyages in search of a Northwest passage. He was mutinied on the fourth voyage. -
Mayflower Compact
Pilgrims sailed for Virginia. Storms had blown them off coarse and they landed far north at what is Massachusetts today. Named their home Plymouth. Because they landed soo fr north they felt they were not bound with rules of Virginia Company. They needed rules so before going ashore 41 adult men signed the Mayflower Compact. -
Puritans in North America and Massachusetts Bay Colony
In 1630 900 Puritans left England for North America with 11 ships. they formed the Massachusetts Bay Colony which recieved a charter to establish settlement in Massachusetts. They were lead by John Winthrop. -
Roger Williams
Roger believed Puritans should split entirely from the Church of England, criticized colonist who seized Native American lands. He was forced to leave Massachusetts Bay in 1635 and in 1636 he founded the town of Providence. -
Anne Hutchinson
Anne questioned some of the Puritans teachings. In 1638 she was put on trial and expelled from Massachusetts. she established a settlement on an island which is now part of Rhode Island. -
Jacques Marquette
Marquette and Louis Joilet paddled conoes in Lake Michigan, they made their way west and reached the Mississippi. They followed the river for a month thinking it was the northwest passage, but ounce they rached its junction the Arkansas River.
