    sourceThe original alphabet was created by a group of Semitic people living in or around Egypt. They formed it on the idea constructed by the Egyptians, but used their own specific symbols.The Phoenicians spread their alphabet to other cultures. The Greeks built on it by adding vowels sometime around 750 BC.

    The idea of a typewriter dates back about 1714, when Henry Mill filed a patent for "an artificial machine or method for the impressing or transcribing of letters singly or progressively one after another." Although the first typewriter that was shown to have worked was built Pellegrino Turri in 1808. By 1873 Sholes & Glidden typewriter was more successful and appered in american markets by 1874.

    Without the invention of the electro magnet in 1825 by William Sturgeon the telegraph would not be a success. In 1830 Joseph Henery used an electro magnet to show that long distance communication was possible. Samuel Morse came up with a telegraph system based on Henery's work, but made it more practical and commercialy successful.

    Morse code is series of eletrical signals. the short signal are called dits and the long ones are dahs. Samuel Mores used this code in 1836 to send information over wires. The most well known use of the code is sending the distress signal: SOS.

    Bell came up with the idea of the telephone in 1874. On March 7th 1876 he granted a patent. it was three days later that he sent the famous sentence "Mister Watson, come here; I want you".

    sourcePackard and Hewlett started their business of making a computers in a garage in California. The first computers were mostly used by engineers for testing. Walt Disney used the newest modile model of HP computer on his 1940 film Fantasia. In 1951,the UNIVAC was the first commerciallyavailable electronic computer.
