They needed someone's help who had military background, so they went to George Washington who lead the colonists and won. Washington was one of the founding fathers. He attended the Continental Congress and was the president of the Continental Constitution. He was also America's first president.

He was one of the delegates who attended the Second Continental Congress. He drafted and promoted The U.S Constitution. He was the one who wrote the Bill Of Rights that later on ended up being in the Constitution. James Madison was George Washington's closest advisor on every political issue. He was once the leader of congress.

The larger the population, the more representation that state gets. Since the south had slaves, they took advantage and counted slaves as people in order to get more representation so that they could keep their slaves. But for the census, for every five slaves, that state gets three people.

The Virginia plan stated that there should be a 2 house congress, a lower house and an upper house but it should all be based on population which gave the large states a big voice. The New Jersey plan stated that the states should have equal representation. The Great Compromise said in the upper house gives all states will get equal representation which pleased he small states. The lower house that's elected by the people pleased the large states.
