    Even after Israel was established, Middle Eastern countries refused to recognize its existance. Some countries repeatedly attack Israel and conduct raids and terrorist attacks. These attacks still go on today.
  • Six Day War

    Israel launched air strikes in Egypt, Syria, and Jordan, destroying most of their airplanes on the ground. Israeli troops then moved in and Israel gained control of Golan Heights, Sinai Peninsula, Gaza Strip, West Bank, and East Jerusalem.
  • Yom Kippur War

    Yom Kippur War
    Egypt and Syria launched this war as a surprise attack against Israel to gain their land back. The United States supported troops to Israel, as they did not yet have a standing army.
  • Camp David Accords

    Camp David Accords
    Israel Prime Minister, Menachem Begin, and Egyptian President, Anwar Sadat, signed a peace treaty known as the Camp David Accords. The treaty ended 30 Years of hostility.
  • Intifada

    Intifada
    Palestinian resentment of Israeli occupation lead them to create a rebellion known as Intifada. Young Palestinians fought against Israeli troops, which caused widespread violence. An agreement was made between Israel and Palestine, and Israel allowed Palestine to gradually gain control of the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
