Mier y Terán report
In 1827 General Manuel de Mire Tiran lead a scientific and boundary expedition into Tx.Their job was to observe the natural resources and the discover the number of the Americans living there. Mier y Terán, traveled with a military escort, and was joined by scientist, artist, & cartographer and remained in East Texas until January1829,Mier y Terán recommended that strong measures be taken to stop the United States from acquiring Tx. His suggestion was incorporated into the Law of April 6, 1830. -

The Guerrero Decree
The Guerrero Decree abolished slavery throughout Mexico and was issued on September 15, 1829. it was meant as a check on American immigration. it didn't reach Texas until October 16, but was withheld because it was in violation of the colonization laws,
The news did alarm the Texans, On December 2 the Mexican Government notified Texas that no change would be made
Though the decree was never followed in Texas, it left many
Texas colonists convinced that their interests were not safe. -

The Law of April 6, 1830
The law of April 6 1830 was made to stop the flood of immigration from the U.S. to Tx. The law made bringing more slaves into Mexico illegal. But the biggest problem from the Texan viewpoint, was the prohibition of immigration from the U.S. Texas colonists were angered by the law, SFA protested the law. But was only able to convince the government to limit parts of the law, but still he began to distrust the Mexican government. Enforcement of this law did cause a chain reaction. -

conflict at Anahuac
Brad burn left to establish a garrison October 26,1830. The main problem was when William and Patrick got arrested.They put together a rescue, reaching there destination June 9,1832. They captured burn's whole cavalry helding them hostage, for a exchange burn's prisoners. After a day the exchange was made, but burn refused to release the prisoners. starting Velasco, everything was resolved when burn's superior, arrived removing burn,turning over the prisoners. -

The government in Texas began with the Mexican Constitution of 1824, which was similar to the United States Constitution and the Spanish Constitution of 1812. The Catholic religion was made the official religion. Erasmus Seguin represented Texas in the assembly. The Anglo Americans in Texas were not represented, and the constitution was never submitted to a vote of the people for ratification, the unstable government and poor leadership meant that this document was not enforced -

Fredonian Rebelion
The Fredonia Rebellion was a dispute involving Haden and Benjamin. Haden received his impresario grant in April that allowed him to settle families in and around Nacodoces and forced settlers who could not prove owner ship to either leave or pay him for their land.This offended the older settlers and the following year, Mexico canceled his contract.
