Women in Russia reatined control of dowries after marriage and enjoyed more financial independce than women else where. This shows continuity because thruoghout the moderen period of Russia, unlike other contries, women were a tad bit more in control of their life. -

The High Class
The high class lived lives of luxury, opulent hmes and parties. This shows contintuity because throught this time period the rich expeirenced numerous values because they were able to pay for it. -

Orthodox Christianity
Orthodox Cristainty was ebentually controlled by the Tsar. This shows change because at one point it was not controlled by the ruler. As times changed religion eventually became something that the Tsar contorlled as well. -

Religion
Religion was a huge part in Russia. Most zrussians were Christian. This shows continuity because despite the huge changes that were happening around Russia the poeple stayed true to their religion. -
Jan 1, 1562
All rulers were male.
All rulers in Russia from 1462 until 1725 were male. This shows continuity because it shows that men were seen as the superiors and only ones able to rule the nation. It also shows how little trust were put into to women being in ontrol. -
Westernization in Women
During the reign of Peter the Great women were forced to adapt to European ways. Women were forced to wear Westeren dresses, shoes and even underwear. And they were required to attend public events. This shows change because it shows how Russian women were forced to change their orignal ways and culture. -
Westernization in Men
During westernization, men were forced to shave their beards, wear western clothes, and noble youth forced to attend scientific acadamies and military schools or could not marry. This shows change because it shows how men were being forced to belive in western ways and forget their Russian ways. -
Wedding Ceremony
Under the rule of Peter the Great a bride's father were no longer allowed to hand the groom a whip as a symbol of power. This shows change because in before times that was the gift from the father to the groom and banding this tradition from Russia stopped most abuse that happened to women in this time. -
Surfs
The poor barely scrape by on their meager livings. Surfs still exist during this time thought by the end of the period they are no longer a surf class. This shows change because it shows that even though poor poeple were still treated terribly, they were not treated in the same disrepct that they were before. -
Catherine the Great
In 1762 Cathering the Great became the first women to rule Russia. This shows change because it shows how Russia as a nation opened up more to women ruling their people and their nation.
