    Earl (Curly) Lambeau was born on April 9th 1898 in Green Bay WI.
  • Boyhood

    Here is Curly's house that he grew up in as a kid. As a kid he and his friends couldn't afford a football so they used a small burlap salt sack stuffed with sand, leaves, and pebbles.

    Here is Curly playing for Green Bay East High School. When Curly was a senior at Green Bay East High School he was the coach for his highschool team. He played as a fullback.
  • College

    Here is a picture of Curly and his team from Notre Dame.Curly attended Notre Dame University and made varsity on the football team as a freshman. He was a fullback and a halfback.
  • Cut from team

    This is Curly when he was in college. Curly had a severe case of tonsilitis which caused him to resign from his college team.
  • Job

    Curly found a job at the Indian Packing Company as a shipping clerk for $250 a month.
  • Married

    Curly married his high school sweetheart in 1919. Her name was Margerite Van Kessel. They only had one child together and his name was John he was born in 1920
  • Creates a team

    Here is a picture of the Packers in 1919. Curly missed playing football so in the summer of 1919 he organized a local team. Getting money from the Packing Co. they recieved thier jerseys and later became known as the Packers one of the best teams in the league.
  • Indian Packing Co.

    Reportedly, the Indian Packing Company went bankrupt after giving the money to start the packer organization.
  • George Calhoun

    He was a reporter for the Green Bay Press Gazette. If it wasn't for George's entusiasm and ability to get an audience to see the Packers Curly and his team would of just remained another town team.

    For the two seasons (1923-24) that the school was being built, they played here at Bellevue Park.
