Number Ten, Six, and Seven find Number Eight up in the mountains in India after fighting off part of the government. Eight tests them to make sure that they are part of the Garde and not some random strangers, or wirse, Mogs. They then fight a couple Mogs at the cave before they try to teleport. Meanwhile, Number Nine and Four are still on the run from the government and find a place to stay in Chicago. Pg. 214 -

Six teleports to new Mexico while the other three try to teleport back to her. She gets taken by the government and tries to fight Setrakus Ra, the Mog leader, who is trying to destroy Earth. But he whips her after diminshing her Legacies, and turns her to stone. Seven, Eight and Ten are now in New Mexico as well, and Four and nine are on their way to find them. pg. 88 -

Four, Seven, Eight, Nine and Ten all find eachother and escape into the military base to find Six. They also find Sarah, Four's human love, and go in to battle Setrakus Ra as well. They don't defeat him, but one moment, there are the sounds of battle, and the next, it's dead silent. They save six, and not one member of the Garde has died in that battle. Sarah too is alive.
