    While Darwin is exploring Sydney he wonders why all of the mammals in Australia vary so greatly from those found in all other countries.
  • Keeling Islands

    Darwin visits the Keeling Islands, also known as the Coco Islands, to study the coral formations around the island. He uses his observations to test his Atoll Formation theory.

    While in Maritius, Darwin makes many observations about the cooled lava formations and plant life.
