Because of statements that he has made that were anti-women or offensive to women. The primary social media used for this movement was Facebook.

    The #MeToo movement raised awareness about sexual assault. It initially started in 2007 but didn't gain recognition until 2017, when actress Alyssa Milano encouraged individuals to speak up about their experience with assault and use the #metoo hashtag on a twitter post.

    Teachers Strike
    Teachers Strike was a movement to protest and raise awareness for low teacher salaries and for larger school budgets. Teachers would walk out from schools until discussions about pay and benefits took place. #teacherstrike went viral on Twitter.
  • Black Lives Matter

    Black Lives Matter
    blacklivesmatter movement started in 2013 after the death of Trayvon Martin's murder but resurfaced in full force after the murder of George Floyd in police hands. The movement was created in efforts to bring systematic racism and police brutality against African Americans to light. Every social media platform was used.
  • Black Out Tuesday

    Black Out Tuesday
    Blackout Tuesday and #theshowmustbepaused originated from the #blacklivesmatter movement to end racism and police brutality. The entertainment industries and businesses were encouraged to not operate for the day giving people the time to educate themselves on racism, police brutality and how people can be better allies. It gained more recognition on Instagram by people sharing black squares with #blackouttuesday
