    In 1972 Donna Haraway completed her PhD in Biology from Yale and wrote her dissertation that blurred the lines between of biology, philosophy, and history of science and medicine.

    A Manifesto for Cyborgs: Science, Technology, and Socialist Feminism in the 1980s
    In 1985 Haraway published her most famous work of the time the "Cyborg Manifesto" which served as feminist approach to the communist manifesto. It helped propel the idea of feminism as tool for equality of not only gender but age, social class, race and even species. Cyborgs aren't gender or binary restricted and remove they feeling of an "us vs. them mentality" in regards to men and women, and asks the question what exactly does it mean to be categorized a woman.
  • Primate Visions: Gender, Race, and Nature in the World of Modern Science

    In this collection of essay's released in 1989 Haraway discusses gender norms presented by western society by researching primates. By doing so it removes the desire to try to pinpoint a location in time where gender norms began and the roles were accepted, but instead leans into the ambiguity of what it means to belong to a specious in the first place.

  • Staying with the Trouble: Making Kin in the Chthulucene

    Making Kin was Haraway's latest book, and its main message is to make kin, not babies. It asks to take a countries power in controlling population as just numbers to generate wealth and power opposed to any neighboring nations. The book has spiked in popularity as supporting the current situation in the Black Lives Matter movement here in the U.S is a great example of creating kinship. Ensuring that every member of the population is taken care of not just the ones deemed "worthy"
