    Martin Luther was an advocate to the establishment of schools teaching children how to read. He was also in favor of adult literacy. He wanted everyone to know how to be able to read. Nowadys you need to be able to read in order to do anything. Being able to read is one of the most vital survival skills for studnets.
  • John Locke (1632-1704)

    John Locke (1632-1704)
    John Locke believed that children are a blank slate and it is up to the teachers to teach the children things they need to know. When children are little they are very impresionable and it is a teachers job to teach them the right things. Locke also stated " It is possible to rear children to think and act as society wants them to" I believe that statement is very true. Teachers teach kids what behaviors are acceptable in the public setting and what behaviors are ment for private or "at home"

    John Pestalozzi believed that a mother can teach a child best. He was for homeschooling children. John Pestalozzi also believed that children can recreate their expierence through drawing and writing.

    Robert believed that a childs enviornment, determines their beliefs, and behaviors. In todays society you have so many children becoming "products of their enviornment" Where a child is raised has a lot to do with how they behave and act. It is best to get children in some form of a productive and positive learning enviornment young.

    Howard believed that children have multiple levels of intellegence. He thought it was up to the teacher to help find each childs strength and help them build on it. In schools today we have advanced placement for students who excel at a particular subject.

    A man named John Dewy believed that childrens education should be based around things the child is intrested in. By doing this you it would help the child discover new thing while learning. This method of learning may have worked back then but today teachers have stict giudlines and rules they must follow. All children will learn the same thing weather they are intreasted in it or not.

    Andrew Maslow believed in teaching children the importance of security, love and care. I think this is something we dont see in school today. Children are not taught love at school. They are taught they are there to learn and thats all. I believe learning to love ones self and others is a thing that needs to be taught at schools. It is to often children are getting bullied. Schools show kids how to deal with a bully but dont show them how to love eachother.

    A man named Erick Erickson believed that life has eight stages. And each one of those eight stages represnt a critical period in social development. He also believed that children need love, care, and education.
