  • John Amos Comenius

    John Amos Comenius
    He is most well known for writting the first childrens book which contained pictures named "Orbis Pictus", which means the world in pictures. He believed this book would help support and promote learning through sensory experiences.
  • Frecrich Froebel

    Frecrich Froebel
    Froebel was a german educator who came up with the first curriculum to meet young childrens uniqueness and capabilities. Just as Montessori believed they learned thru exploration, his curriculum was also based on play meterials. He couldn't emphasize enough the importance of teacher/child relationships. He then later designed toys for children that will help stimulate their sensors and later called them "Froebel gifts".
  • Society of Boston Public Schools

    The idea of universal preeschool in the U.S started by infant schools which were made up by Society of Boston Public Schools. Their goal still remains "elusive" and still focus on dignity and respect.
  • Maria Montessori

    Maria Montessori
    Maria Montessori was an Italian educator who's main goal was the development of intellect by exploration of materials. A large amount of public and private school choose to approach her methods and materials. She also has her own line of preschool learning materials and are being used in over four thousand early childhood educsation programs.
  • Susan Blow

    Susan Blow
    Susan was the first to open a public kindergarted classroom in St. Louis, MI. Her main focus was to give the children a good start in their education. Many public classrooms modeled after Susan's classroom and later by the time she passed in 1916 there was a total of 400 public classrooms in St. Louis.
  • No Child Left Behind

    This movement was last updated by former President Bush. Children are required to test their abilities in reading and math starting from 3-8 and once in highschool. Some states did not agree with such testing because they believe it wasn't fair to the children, so they are granted a waiver from testing.

    President Obama believes every child deserves a world class education. He can agree that it is our obligation to make the childrens visions, our visions. It is our duty to make them bright and help them accomplish such goals that were set by our past education practicioners in order to pave the perfect path for our children. If we can't help our children who will?

    This idea was first introduced by Johan Pestallozi who believed that education should follow the course of nature. This being said he firmly believed that the children's mother was the best teacher they could have. He thought that all educationshould have a structure and he described them as "Object lessons".
