  • The Austrian Anschluss

    The Austrian Anschluss
    Hitler threatened to invade and annex any German-speaking nation, unless Austrian Nazis were given important government posts. Hitler demanded for a democratic vote. The Austrian Nazis tried for the second time to seize Austrian government force and unite with Nazi Germany.
  • The Munich Crisis

    The Munich Crisis
    Hitler announced German claims on attacking Sudetenland, in Czechoslovakia, which has a German-speaking population. With that being announced, other countries such as France, and Soviet Union, Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain all disagreed with Germans actions. All of the representatives of Britain, France, Italy, and Germany agreed to meet for a conference. People then supported, only to avoid war with Hitler.

    Hitler Demands Danzig
    Although any countries were giving into Hitlers demand, Poland refused. Hitler ordered his German army to prepare for war against Poland and also have the minister to begin negotiations with the USSR. Being that Hitler was going to war with Britain and France, he didn't want to also fight with the Soviet Union.

    This was a non-aggressive treaty proposed by Germany to the Soviet. Stalin believed to protect the USSR, you must have nations against each other. If the treaty goes as planned, Germany could go to war with France and Britain, which meant the USSR would be safe from harm.

    World War II all began with Germans invading Poland. German's happened to have modern warfare which Poland did not. Poland was definitely outdated by the Germans, being that they were still riding horses. By October 5th, Germans had finally defeated the Polish Military.
  • The Evacuation of Dunkirk

    Britain and France both complied to evacuate their troop, all except Dunkirk in northern France. Hitler delayed his attack to remove the troops, without reason. About 338,000 British and French troops had been miraculously saved. It soon came to be known as the "Miracle at Dunkirk"
  • The Fall of France

    After World War I, the French had built a line of bunkers and fortifications called the Maginot Line. People would sit by the line, waiting for the approach of the Germans. As the Germans went around the line, on May 10th, they then launched a new blitzkrieg. Germans would then trap the French in Belgium.
  • The Battle of Britain

    The Battle of Britain
    It was up to Germany to defeat the British Air Force. By June 1940, the German force, then called the Luftwaffe, began attacking. Britain and Germany then had an air battle which lasted until the fall of 1940.
