    1921 - Adolf Hitler becomes leader of the Nazi Party. This leads up to Hitler becoming Chancellor of Germany in 1933. He now has a spot on the government, giving him more power than he ever had before.

    Hitler threatened to invade German speaking Austria unless Austrian Nazis were given important government posts. The Austrian chancellor gave in, then in March, Hitler sends in his troops to announce the Austrian Anschluss
