    I will spend three days on a Viking group DBQ. They willl read documents about the Vikings and work together to create a thesis statement that answers the guiding question: How did the Vikings change Europe?

    I will show a flip chart which introduces Charlemagne.
  • Charlemagne Titan Pad Acstivity

    Charlemagne Titan Pad Acstivity
    The students will read and annotate an article together using Titan Pad. They will then read another article about Charlemagne on their own.
  • Charlemagne Philsophical Chairs

    Charlemagne Philsophical Chairs
    Students will debate this essential question: Did Charlemagne deserved to be called "The Great" using the AVID technique of philosophical chairs.
  • Charlemagne Perspectives Activity

    Charlemagne Perspectives Activity
    The students will take on the roll of either a Pagan, a Christian, or a supporter of the pope and create an editorial stating their opinion on Charlemagne. They will use the information gleened from the Charlemagne texts and the philosophical chairs debate.
  • Feudalism Introduction and Simulation

    The students will participate in a TCI simulation on feudalism.
  • Manor Day

    Students will learn what a manor looked like/the components of a manor and create their own manor.

    Students will learn what it waas like to be a monk.
  • Cathedrals

    Cathedrals
    Students will research and create a flip chart in groups about a medieval catherdral.
  • Medieval Towns

    Medieval Towns
    Students will download a flip chart with a picture of a medieval town and annotate it. For the next three days, students will be doing a TCI dramatization about life in a medieval town On the last day, they will present their dramatization about one element of life in a medieval town.
