  • Eleanor was born.

    Eleanor was born in a fine townhouse in Manhattan.
  • The Ugly Duckling.

    The day since her birth people started to realize she was an unattractive child. As she grew she started to realize her mom's extraordinary beauty. She thought she was plain looking, ordinary.
  • Grief struck

    Her mother started to become ill with painful headaches. Eleanor would sit with her mom's head in her lap and stroke or massage her forehead. When Eleanor was eight her mom died.
  • Tragedy strikes

    A few months after her mother died, her father died as well. Within 18 months she lost both her mom and dad, and little brother.
  • Boarding school

    Eleanor was 15 when her grandmother sent her to Allenswood, a private boarding school for girls. She still thought she was the ugly duckling, but would be able to turn into a swan. She looked out for her health by doing exercises everyday. She made friends that would put books and flowers in her room.
  • Love is in the air

    Eleanor fell in love with her fifth cousin Franklin Delano Roosevelt. They had known each other since they were kids. They met again after she got back from Allenswood, at a train station and they finally realized they liked each other. For some time they met secretly. Eleanor always thought did he actually love her?
  • Marriage?

    On May 13, 1903, Franklin asked asked Eleanor to marry him when she was 19, she agreed to marry him. In March Eleanor and Franklin were married. 'Uncle Ted' ( president of the USA) gave Eleanor away.
  • Kids

    The couples first child was born. In the next nine years gave birth to five more children, one of them died in the infirmary.
  • Becoming ill

    On vacation Franklin became ill with polio, nobody knew what caused the disease or how to cure it, many people had died from polio, however Franklin did survive but his lower half was paralyzed.
  • President

    Franklin became president in 1932, Eleanor changed when people were telling Franklin he should stop being president. She finally became brave and told Franklin to do what he wanted.
  • Dieing

    Eleanor died in her sleep in November.
