  • Proclamation of 1763

    The Proclamation of 1763 ended the French and Indian war. This also gave the British control of France's land in Canada except for Florida and New Orleans.
  • The Stamp Act

    This was the first internal taxed placed on the colonies by the British government. Each paper document in the colonies was taxed because of this.
  • Townshend Acts

    These acts placed taxes on glass, lead, paint, paper, and tea that were being brought into the colonies. Many Americans thought by doing this Biritain was abusing their power.
  • Tea Act

    The British Parliament created this act to help get their country out of the huge debt they were in.
  • Quebec Act

    Passed by the English Parliament to replace the temporary government placed on the Canadian French. This gave the Canadian French complete religious freedom.
  • Intolerable Acts

    These acts were created to punish the American colonists who participated in the Boston Tea Party and other riots. These punishments were very harsh.
