First days of school
Charlie was a freshman. He did not enjoy himself at school because he did not have any friends to spend time with. He had a countdown of days left at school at first day of school. -
American football
After some hard days at school trying to make friends, Charlie decided to watch his brother play American football. After first half he spotted one of his classmates named Patrick together with a girl, on the tribune a pair stages higher than himself. He decided to walk up and say "Hi". His classmate Patrick and the girl named Sam responded enthusiastically "Hi!" back. The conversation kept going. After the match they met at "Kings" were they ate together. -
Good times
After Charlie became friends with Patrick and Sam, his life got much better. He has someone to sit together with at the canteen, and someone to spend time with after school. -
The tunnel
Sam, Patrick and Charlie drove their pickup truck through a tunnel while Sam was standing in the back of the truck. I think its a symbol of their friendship. They feel free and infinite. -
Charlie and Mari Elizabeth
After prom, Charlie joined his prom-date Mari Elizabeth home to her house were they spent time together. The next days, they started going out together. -
Wrong decision
Charlie had been thinking of expressing his feelings about how he did not feel the same for Mary Elisabeth, as she did for him. At a party, everyone was playing truth or dare, and when Charlie thought he was playing it safe by choosing dare, he got asked to kiss the most beautiful girl in the room. He kissed Sam. Not only did he kiss her, but he kissed her in front of Mary Elisabeth. -
Mental illness
Before Charlie got known with Sam and Patrick, he was mentally ill after his aunt died, and his best friend became suicide. Charlie is suffering inside himself after these tragical episodes, and he can't survive without his friends. -
Fight
Charlie´s friend Patrick ended up in a fight at school. When Charlie noticed this, he jumped in the fight and punched every single person trying to hurt Patrick. -
Homosexual
After Charlie protected Patrick in the fight, Patrick brought Charlie to a mountain. They started talking and suddenly Patrick kissed Charlie. He immediately apologized. Charlie got surprised, but he forgave him. -
Last night with Sam
Charlie and Sam spent their last night together alone. They talked about how much they were going to miss each other. At last they both said "I love you" and kissed. -
Sam leave her hometown to start Penny State summer program
When Sam left town to start a new life at Penny State summer program, things got sad. Charlie had no friends left. Mari Elizabeth, Patrick and Sam was no longer in town. Charlie had 1095 days left. He did not know what to do. -
Mental Illness #2
Charlie had a relatively stable home life, with supportive parents to fall back on. Unfortunately, his mental issue surfaces at the end of the school year when Patrick and Sam was studying outside town. Charlie had a severe mental breakdown and ended up hospitalized. -
Visit from Sam and Patrick
After Charlie got released from hospital, Sam and Patrick visited him. They made an agreement that meant they were going to drive through the tunnel again, with Charlie in the back of the pickup truck.
