Trust vs Mistrust
Mia lived a life going to counseling with many different therapists that try to help her understand herself. One day Mia realized that she have all the answers to her fears and anxieties. She is the only one who knows what she went through in her life, because she experienced it. Everyday Mia still struggles, but she has learned to adapt her situations in a better and more relaxing way, with the understanding that it is a lifelong learning process. -

Trust vs Mistrust
Mia eventually got better, but the effects of being alone in the hospital room made Mia have mistrust for everyone. From her adolescent life to middle age, she lived a life of anxiety and depression. Now in her middle age, she realizes that, "everything will be okay." That helped to lessen her fears and worry. -

Mia was born September 15, 1908. Her parents were settlers from Germany who migrated the United States in hopes of finding a better life for their family of five, which consisted of Mia, her two brothers and mom and dad. -

At eight months of age, Mia got sick and end up in the hospital. She remembers strangers coming into her room. Mom and dad were not around. Mom was there, but she was working and couldn't come in to hold and comfort her. Mia stood in the crib watching the door, waiting for mom to come in; instead a stranger came in and gave her the bottle and laid her down. As soon as the stranger left, Mia stood up again and begin waiting for mom.
