    Margret is Born- First Stage - trust vs. mistrust
    Margret is born to a very loving and supportive family. In Erikson's first stage, trust vs mistrust, an infant needs to be loved and cared for. If well loved the infant thinks the world is a good place and not to be feared. Infants not well loved well will mistrust others and have doubts about life. Margret will be loved and will trust and not feel fear.
  • Margret starts kindergarden- Stage 3 - initiative vs guilt

    Margret  starts kindergarden- Stage 3 - initiative vs guilt
    Margret (age 5) is in her early childhood years. She starts kindergarden. The teacher at the school is is mean and criticizes Margret, In Erikson's third stage, initiative vs guilt, children start planning things in a purposful way. When they are encouraged they develop a sense of initiative, when they are discouraged or treated bad they will experience guilt. Marget's experience will fill her with guilt.

    Margret hits puberty - Fifth Stage - identity vs identity confusion
    Margret (age 13) hits puberty. At this age she is exploring who she is and what she is capable of. In Erikson's fifth stage, identity vs identity confusion, adolescents develop an awareness of who they are, what they are cabable of, and where their place is. If an adolescent has difficulties here, they will have identity confusion.

    Margret becomes a grandmother- Seventh Stage- ego integrity vs despair
    Margret's daughter has her own child. Margret (age 60), is in middle adulthood. She will help her daughter in raising her grandchild. She not only cares for her daughters but also her grandchild's well-being. In Erikson's seventh stage, generativity vs stagnation, in middle adulthood one focuses on the well-bing of the next generation. They care for others. If the do not focus on others, they will end up in a state of stagnation.
